THE BEAST FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL RUGBY BOOTCAMP IS IN FULL SWING

Johannesburg, South Africa: With incredible excitement, The Beast Foundation would like to announce that their flagship programme, The Annual Rugby Bootcamp, is in full swing following contact sport restrictions that impacted so many sports players.

Initially launched in 2021, the Annual Rugby Bootcamp is an all-expenses-paid learning camp for aspiring Rugby players. Open to both boys and girls aged between 16 and 20 years, the camp seeks to find the next generation of rugby stars and will include intense Rugby training and life skills development from top professionals and experts.

Tendai “The Beast” Mtawarira, passionately expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “The Beast Foundation prides itself on upliftment through our many pillars, with sport being one of our main vehicles of empowerment, discipline and inclusivity. We are incredibly excited to kick off our Bootcamps, identifying these young boys and girls and harnessing them into future leaders. Through our Rugby Bootcamps, these young people will also have an opportunity to be scouted to play professionally.” Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, voiced his support saying: “Our country’s young and energetic population needs guidance, access, support and opportunity - and The Beast Foundation does just that.”

Growing from an initial national recruitment drive of 50 Bootcampers, a new approach has been adopted to ensure that The Beast Foundation adds value in the provincial Rugby initiatives, building within their local talent retention plans. A monumental 60 Bootcampers will now be scouted per region for the camps, ensuring that the Foundation reaches more aspiring players through their provincial recruitment. Their first set of try-outs will be held in Durban on the 12th of July, leading to an intense 4-day Rugby Bootcamp from 13th to 16th July. The rest of the try-outs will be rolled out to other regions nationally during the 2022/2023 Rugby season. Managing Director of The Beast Foundation, Yase Godlo, said, “The Beast Foundation roll out of this programme invites every Girl and Boy child to show their skills. We are now going stronger, inspired and look forward to reaching more young talent through our new format of the provincial Rugby bootcamps.”
